Danielle has been practicing personal injury law since 1993. She was previously an associate and then a partner at McEwan Harrison Law Corporation, where she was counsel for both plaintiffs and defendants. Since 2009, she has exclusively acted for plaintiffs. Danielle also handles general litigation cases.
Danielle has experience with serious injury claims, including brain, orthopedic, chronic pain, psychiatric and psychological injuries. Her goal is to obtain for her clients the necessary rehabilitation to minimize symptoms. Danielle also aims to be accessible, diligent, and energetic in her goal to obtain fair resolution of claims through trial or settlement.
After graduating from the University of Western Ontario with a Bachelor in Administrative and Commercial Studies, Danielle completed her law degree at Queen’s Law School. She has lived and practiced law in the Kootenays since 1995 and enjoys life in this corner of the world.
Over the years, Danielle has held numerous volunteer positions including: Board member of the Trail Skills Centre and Golden Bear Daycare; President of the Kootenay Bar Association; Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer of the Continuing Legal Education Society of B.C.; Governor of the Law Foundation of B.C. Danielle has served as a member of the Mental Health Review Board since 2010 where she chairs Review Panel Hearings in Trail, Nelson and Cranbrook.
Outside the office, Danielle is a hockey, and former soccer and lacrosse mom to her two boys, and is passionate about the great outdoors. Danielle loves to hike, cross-country ski, bike, snowshoe, paddleboard, and practice yoga. She has also participated in many running races and triathlons, both locally and outside the Kootenays. She is an avid reader and a member of two local book clubs.
Danielle is a member of the Trial Lawyers Association of British Columbia.
Stewart has a special interest in brain injury and other serious injury cases. He has developed a rather extensive research collection of both medical and legal authorities.
Born in London, England, Stewart immigrated to Canada with his family as young boy. He was raised in and around Calgary, Alberta and graduated from St. Mary’s High School. After high school, he completed a Business degree at the University of Calgary. Stew then worked as a Cost Control Analyst and Project Manager with Gulf Canada Resources for 3 years, while continuing his education and attaining the final level of a Certified Management Accounting designation.
Stewart next ventured off to the University of Victoria where he obtained his Bachelor of Laws degree. He returned to Calgary with his two young children and started his legal career with one of the large downtown firms. It wasn’t long before he decided he preferred to work more directly with people. Consequently, he and his young family relocated to Cranbrook in 1990 where he raised his children.
In the past, Stewart has been active in the Kinsmen Club, his Church Council, and the District Recreation Project Society. He also was a member of the Rossland Neighbourhoods of Learning Committee, the Director of the Cranbrook Youth Soccer Association, and the Continuing Legal Education Director in the East Kootenays for more than 15 years. He has also served as Vice President of a local provincial political riding association, as Director of the local Brain Injury Association, as Advisor to the Judicial Council of BC in selecting provincial court judges, and as a member of the Auto Insurance Committee of the Canadian Bar Association – BC branch.

Stewart has expanded his practice to include the West Kootenays. He now resides in Rossland and has an office in Rossland, Trail, and Cranbrook. Stewart used to compete in local triathlons, and now enjoys skiing (cross country and backcountry), snowshoeing, hiking, cycling, yoga, and kayaking. He is an avid reader and chess player.
Together with his wife and fellow lawyer Danielle, the Darouxs represent personal injury clients together. He believes this proves advantageous to their clients as they have access to the knowledge and expertise of two lawyers at no extra charge!
